Children and Adolescents
Michelle is experienced in delivering therapy for children aged from 3 years to young adults. Her services to children, adolescents and young adults fundamentally endeavours to offer a therapeutic environment where her clients feel the psychological sessions offer them a place they can feel trusted, secure, supported and safe.
Individuals
Michelle Barratt's psychological sessions offer sound and efficacious treatment plans for men and women and are responsive to all clients' specific individual needs. All treatment plans are formulated in collaboration with each client. Her psychological environment provides a forum where safety is paramount, and every client is listened to, respected and understood.
Couples
Many types of issues are presented in couples therapy; the most important thing to understand is that couples counselling is carried out within a framework understanding, empathy, and no judgement. Couples therapy is generally sought so that the couple's patterns of conflict can be determined, better communication can be learnt, and the value of the relationship restored.
Family
Families often don't look like the conventional family that they did 10 years ago; no matter what size or shape, many families experience different types of problems. These problems can include conflict, negative behaviour, separation, isolation, neglect, communication breakdowns, physical, psychological, emotional and mental abuse – just to name a few.
Christian Therapy
As a Christian psychologist, Michelle offers not just her professional skills and experience in psychology, but believes she is able to add a different dimension to her therapy sessions if required. Meeting with a Christian psychologist can often support individuals by helping them to feel like they are truly being understood in their spiritual journey, and therefore better be able to reach their goals.
